Art Deco Images - Favourite Things
These Art Deco Images are just a few of my favourite things.......
The following images are just a few of my favourite Art Deco collectables. If you're after artistic Art Deco images, there's lots of Art Deco graphic art on my poster pages and my Art Deco prints pages. Watch out for copyright rules if you are intending to reproduce any of them. You are welcome to use any of my own photos but please credit Decolish.com. I hope you enjoy looking at some of my collectables through these images, but I'm sure you've all got lots of fabulous pieces at home to make us all jealous! Why not brag about them and have your own Decolish page. Just fill out the box at the bottom of the page. Its that easy!

This gorgeous perfume bottle was my grandmother's and is one of my treasured possessions. The pink depression glass vase I bought at a local market, and I found the amazing watch compact on Ebay.

Cocktails were incredibly popular during the Art Deco period. Mainly because during prohibition it was the best way to make alcoholic drinks taste bearable! But it was also part of the whole party experience. Cocktail shakers from the period can be very collectable now. This set is quite unusual in that it has the matching cups.

The bronze sculpture on the left is a copy of a Chiparus. He was one of the foremost sculptors of the period and concentrated on exotic dancers in futuristic costumes. They are much copied today, but an original would set you back many thousands of dollars.

There are many more clocks to look at on my Art Deco clocks pages. They range from grand marble clocks with garnitures for stately mansions to quirky Bakelite clocks.
On the left are two textured glass lampshades. I use them as ornaments at the moment. Though some of my other lampshades have found homes in my new house. On the right is a sunburst pattern on the bottom of a lovely Bakelite fruit bowl.

I saw this wonderful teapot set in an antique shop in Hobart recently. I loved it, but I didn't love the $350 price tag. But the lady who owned the shop was so kind and let me have a photo of it. So I could enjoy it, and share it with you too. Must admit, I've never seen another set like it, and so rare to find one in great condition and all complete. So it probably was worth every cent I just didn't have.
My other half had a craze for uranium depression glass for a while so we seem to have ended up with a house full of green glass vases. But it's my favourite colour so I'm not complaining!
This stylish Art Deco trio is more use for looking at than actually drinking from because of the handle. Gorgeously pointy, but hard to hold. The teapot has pride of place in my new (old) kitchen, I adore it.
