Luscious First Find

by Angie Mc
(Scotland)

I have only recently been introduced to Bakelite (as a jewellery accessory).

I knew what Bakelite was and always associated it with old door handles, radios, mirror frames etc.

I joined a group on facebook, all of who were interested in vintage jewellery as I have always been, but failed to take note of these beautiful Bakelite fashion items!

Today I found this luscious necklace. It has been tested; it's positive! (sounds like a pregnancy test!)

Just want to share with you my first find, but I really hope I come across more of these stunning treasures of the past!
Any advice on Bakelite, I truly am open to, as this is a new area for me. I will be selling this item soon, but right now? I am enjoying it's luscious, yummy colours!

Lea Stein
by: Lesley

You're welcome. There are some Lea Steins on my store, store.decolish.com

Also I've started stocking Erstwilder which are much cheaper and very quirky. Also made of a type of plastic resin with beautiful finishes.

Thanks Lesley for your kind comment. I love Lea Stein but as yet have not found a piece on my searches, but there are some amazing items on here too.

I will be finding my way around this wonderful site. Glad I found it.

Yummy Bakelite
by: Lesley

Oh great! Another convert. You really have to see and touch Bakelite to appreciate how gorgeous it is don't you?

That piece you have looks fabulous. A wonderful intro to collecting. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Love your comparison to a pregnancy test. Lol!

I have many pages on this site about Bakelite Jewelry, how to test it, all the different kinds, and different plastics too. The main page is on the navbar and it leads to all the others.

Are you a fan of Lea Stein too?
