I am always on the lookout to photograph relics of faded grandeur, and art deco buildings certainly fit into this category.

While exploring the Caribbean for a seaside blog project called The Lost Promenade, we came across this derelict gem of a cinema in Curacao’s capital Willemstad.

If you would like, I can send you a photo of the Cinelandia from 1943. It was taken by my father when he was in the army in the American army (Coast ARtillery) stationed in Curacao.
